Still trying to contact Andy Biggs for a possible coaches clinic at the end of August.

Items Discussed: Joel Anderson introduced an idea for a “Berwick Rec All-Star” team to prepare 5th & 6th grade girls for Junior High & High School soccer. He would like to have “non-travel” games in Berwick with other travel teams on Saturday afternoons around 2 pm. Coaches would steer certain players toward trying out for the team. A backpack flyer will be sent out for Berwick 5 to see if any parent interest. Joel is going to speak with the Gagners about not stepping on travel soccer’s toes. He will also clear it with Dave Ryan, President of travel soccer. The Rec Board approved the idea.

Scholarships: There were 40 applications in total, all girls. 2 girls were chosen based on suggestion by Deana Kennedy from the High School, she will also notify winners. The winners must complete first semester and when second semester is started the money will be sent to the school. It was advised to have Varsity coach announce the scholarship opportunity in September.

Shirts: Kerry has been approached by a guy (Barry), who claims he will be beat any quote for shirts. We will be checking with Sue for prices we pay Collins now and that quote will be sent to Barry. Will also be checking on turn around time. It is now 2 weeks with Collins.

Award Choice: A medallion was voted on and chosen, the cost is $1.88 each.

Web Site: Mindy is looking into moving away from the Eteamz web site and creating our own Berwick Rec web site. A domain name needs to be chosen. The cost will be approximately $40.00 a year.

Registration: 93 applications were sent home on Kindergarten Registration day, there could possibly be another 20-25. Will also send registration forms to Soccer Camp and Rec camp. There will be 2 more registration opportunities: Thursday July 26 from 6-8 pm and Saturday August 11 from 10-1 under the awning at the Hussey School. These days and times will be advertised on the Sandwich Boards around town. We will also do a “last chance sign-up” at Kindergarten Open House on August 30th.
