BYSA Meeting Notes
May 23, 2008
Present: Kerry Ashburn, Stephanie White, Cindy Cobb, Stacy Podolec, Mindy Aumann, Nicole Clements, Rebecca
Nicole will handle equipment positions.
Laura will be shop for concessions. Jerry will set up for
concessions. Kerry will confirm with the two to see if they want
to accept the concessions position titles.
An additional question will be added to the sign up form, “Is your child on any other soccer league”.
Rebecca presented the treasurers report. $4,220.17 to date in the account.
There was a two page sign up form and a no tolerance policy that was
handed out to all (72) upcoming kindergarten students at K
registration. It is ok for out of district children to
participate in our BYSA league.
When soccer registration come in they will go directly to Stephanie
White and she will forward to the appropriate person. Coaches to
Nicole, etc…
Kerry motioned and all board members were in favor to vote in Cindy Cobb for the new BYSA treasurer.
Matt Cobb will handle field prep. There are safety issues at
several fields. The Bantam and Mite fields will swap for the fall
season; this will allow more room for modification to avoid holes.
Kerry motioned and all board members were in favor to let all coaches and board members children to play for free.
Sponsors will pay $175 for the fall 2008 season. Cindy spoke to Dennis at Deb & Dukes about shirt pricing and a logo.
Skills/Drills a new program for 4 year olds will be available this fall
season. There will be a $20 fee and parent participation will be
recommended.
Nicole will ask for experienced coaches to volunteer to run the coaches
clinic. Coaches will break into Mite, Bantam, etc… levels
to discuss rules, drills, etc… Coach’s shirts,
equipment and packets will go out that evening too. No date has
been set yet. It was decided BYSA will follow Soccer Maine
guidelines.
There was much discussion around the coach’s game and
awards. Maybe eliminating the coach’s game, there was not a
lot of participation last year. Handing out awards after the last
game instead of an awards ceremony was discussed and a possible ice
cream social.
Sign ups will be held Wednesday June 11th from 5-7pm and Saturday July
19th from 9-11am at the Hussey School. A late fee of $20 will be
added after 8/1/08.
Next board meeting will be June 18th at 7pm.
