Player's equipment & Dress:
In the interest of safety, these are the guidelines for dress to soccer practices and games:
Shin guards:  Mandatory for everyone.  Tall socks need to be over them or purchase the shin guards that are built into the sock.

Cleats:  Suggested for 4-5 year olds and mandatory for everyone else.  Should be soccer cleats only.
Mouth guards:  Optional for 4-5 year olds, recommended for 6-8 year olds, and required for 9-12 year olds.
Jewelry:  No jewelry is to be worn (necklace, earrings, etc).
Clothes:  Shirts need to be tucked in for 7-12 year olds.  Shorts or athletic pants should be worn - no jeans or pajama bottoms.
When it gets colder, extra items can be worn underneath the soccer shirt. Sweatshirts, coats, hats, and hoods can only be worn on the sidelines.
Hair:  No metal or plastic hair things or bandannas. Stretchy terrycloth head/sweat bands are allowed.
If you have any questions, please ask!
Without the proper equipment, your child may not be allowed to play. We follow SoccerMaine recommendations, and these guidelines are for your child's own safety. Mouth Guards not only protect the mouth during an impact but also reduce concussions and other injuries.
